The Certified Hotel Professional designation represents someone who wants to achieve competence in hospitality management skills required to add value, drive business performance and build quality practices within organizations.

Hospitality
is an essential ingredient of almost all travel and tourism experiences. Hospitality can be the core business of some industries while to others it may be secondary albeit a profitable one and an essential one.

Covering the most important elements of Hospitality, this course and eventual certificate
shows employers a basic level of skill and hireablity that they're looking for.
This course can be taken on its own or as part of a longer course at an accredited centre or by distance learning using online resources.

With the Certified Hotel professional you are first taken through an Introduction to Hospitality,
Educated as to the different Sectors within the Hospitality Industry.
You will cover Marketing and Sales promotion,
as well as Customer Service and Food and Beverage, Hospitality Management Services and Recreational Activities.
Introduction to Hospitality
Hotel Accommodation,
Restaurant and Managed Services,
Understanding Recreation and Gaming Entertainment,
Hospitality Industry Strategy
Food and Beverage

Likely career prospects  
The Hospitality Industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the world with opportunities available in particular for those who have an accredited qualification.

The CHP is recognised in many countries being accredited by a UK awarding body
There should no be a problem in getting employment but ATHE have partners as recruiting agents in London and other cities should this service be needed.

Qualification

This certificate programme is made up of units. The duration of the course depends on the time you have available, however the recommended learning hours for this course is 29 hours and can be taken over a period of time to suit the individual.

Academies and Colleges can get approval to add their own units which need to be approved in advance.

  How you are assessed
 

The Certified Hotel Professional is assessed by means of a written examination.
This will be a short examination where students will need to answer any 10 out of 20 questions with the answer to each one being about 200 words
An optional assignment can be done by arrangement with ATHE. The test will be marked by the centre.

Cost

There is a registration fee of £35 per student.
Each centre will then quote their own costs depending on attendance or by distance.
Also many centres include the CHP as part of a longer course.

If, however, you are unable to attend a centre the course is available directly from ATHE online for £95 including the registration fee.
